HOW DO YOU TWITTER?

HOW DO YOU TWITTER?

Have you noticed how everyone is banging on about Twitter? I was recently watching a cricket match and to my astonishment, I heard that dear old commentator Bumble talking about twitter and how many followers he had. Seen as how he is old enough to be by Granddad (sorry Bumble), I decided that it was time for me to find out all about this mysterious website€¦well, it was mysterious to me anyway!

Basically, Twitter is like a mini-blogging site. This means that you can send messages to just about anyone who is on there; many people use it to send messages to their favorite celebrities or just have a bit of fun writing funny stories and sending them to anyone they think will be interested. Do remember though that you’ll only be able to use up to 140 words, so make your story short!

There are also a good number of people that use Twitter as their daily diary; they just post their thoughts on a daily basis. I happen to think that this is a great website, it’s a great way of meeting people online and you can make some really good friends. Also, it’s a way of connecting with people that you may have thought were out of your reach. Perhaps you’re a massive JLS fan and would like to feel closer to them (no stalkers allowed by the way); you can risk being blocked from the site!

On the subject of how your twitter, it couldn’t be easier. Of course, the first thing you will need to do is sign up for an account; twitter has made this really easy to do and it doesn’t take long. Once you have your account set up then you can log in. You’ll find that there is a box at the top of the screen so that you can type your message, or you can click on the “compose new tweet” button and do it that way. Once you have finished writing your messages simply click on “post tweet” and bam! You have now just completed your first twitter.

By the way, you may have noticed that I have used the word “tweet” in the last paragraph. Although the website is called Twitter, for some unknown reason it is also known as “tweeting”. So, don’t get confused, both Twitter and tweets are the same things.

At this point, I feel that its worth mentioning that if you intend to use this site as a way of sending messages to people that you would prefer were not part of the planet, DON’T; the website is constantly monitored and if you’re found sending abusive messages you will more than likely be kicked off! This means, for life, you will not be able to use twitter again.

My advice, use twitter as a fun way of passing some spare time and getting in touch with friends, family or your favorite celebrity. You’ll be astounded at just how many famous people will reply.
